Ema, de vuelta a golpe de gift
Hace unos días hablábamos de la vuelta de EMA, uno de los nombres clave de este 2014 si consideramos la excelente acogida que tuvo Satellites y hoy volvemos a ella para hablar del segundo adelanto de The Future’s Void, a la venta el próximo 7 de Abril. El disco llega de la mano de City Slang y disfruta desde hoy un nuevo adelanto, ya que acaba de publicarse hace unos minutos So blonde, segundo tema de adelanto del disco, dirigido en esta ocasión por Vice Cooler, en colaboración con la reputada Molly Soda.

Soda es una reputada creadora de gifts, y precisamente de ellos se nutre el clip, formando un bonito collage visual. La propia Erika ha hablado largo y tendido en su blog personal del videoclip, reflexiones de las que dejamos un fragmento en su formato original:

How about discussing if the selfie is a new form of feminist art or just a direct descendant of capitalist advertising? No? Hmm… Yeah I couldn’t figure out how to put that into a video either. So how’s about I just roll around Venice Beach wearing a Jim Morrison Tshirt while gifs by Molly Soda bounce in and out? Ok! That works! The semiotics of palm trees! Everyone gets the short-hand of SoCal. It’ll look great, be fun, and still gets to ask the important questions: How many bits do we have to reduce the dancing blonde babe to before she is no longer a symbol of sexiness? At what point do tits become simply bits? And who owns the sparkly dolphin anyway???
Sea como fuere, el tema confirma que el nuevo álbum de EMA mantendrá como mínimo la contundencia de su anterior trabajo, algo que nos da motivos para celebrar un retorno que llega aquí acompañado de un notable derroche en lo visual, gracias en parte a ese factor gif, del que recuperamos uno de los ejemplos subido a su blog:
