Nos hemos referido en varias ocasiones a La Luz -la última el pasado mes de Octubre, cuando reseñamos su fantástico disco de debut–, serias candidatas a disco del año en esta casa, y hoy debemos hacerlo por una mala noticia: la banda capitaneada por Shana Cleveland ha sufrido un accidente de tráfico que ha dejado su caravana inutilizable, por lo que se han visto obligadas a cancelar su gira.
El percance ocurrió durante la noche de ayer y acaba de ser confirmado por Hardly Art, sello con el que han publicado su disco de debut, It’s Alive. El accidente ha causado lesiones en las componentes del grupo, ha destrozao sus equipos de música y ha dejado inservible la caravana en la que habitualmente se desplazaban, lo que ha terminado por propiciar un parón en su gira promocional, cancelando todos los conciertos previstos a partir de hoy mismo, quedando suspendido su concierto en Neumos. La Luz estaban girando actualmente con Of Montreal, tal y como ellas mismas explicaban en Facebook estos días.
La Luz han abierto una cuenta un Paypal para poder hacer frente a la recuperación de la furgoneta, habilitando para ello el correo electrónico laluzdonate@gmail.com, pudiéndose llevar a cabo igualmente los donativos a través de este link.

COMUNICADO HARDLY ART: Last night on their way back to their native Seattle from a show at Boise’s Korah Shrine, rising surf band La Luz were in a severe accident that totaled their van, destroyed their gear, and incurred injuries to the band members. As a result, they’ve been forced to bow out of their remaining tour dates with of Montreal, starting with tonight’s performance at Neumos. For those who feel compelled to help the band get back on their feet, we’ve set up a Paypal account for laluzdonate@gmail.com; fans can simply click here to gift them whatever amount they desire. 100% of the donations will go the band as they seek to pay medical bills and purchase a new van, new equipment, and new merch.
COMUNICADO LA LUZ: Last night was probably the most terrifying experience of any of our lives. But we’re ok! Thanks for the love and well wishes everyone. We lost a lot of things (pretty much everything we had) and got pretty banged up when we were hit by a semi on our way to Seattle last night, but we’re just awfully glad to be alive and we’ll be back on our feet in no time.
